Good afternoon Folsom Black U12 Parents and Players, and WELCOME!
The new season is just around the corner so I wanted to take the opportunity to introduce the coaches for the 2022 season. I will be your head coach, Todd Deal, along with Mike Clegg, as our assistant coach. I can tell you we are both very excited to coach your boys this season! This will be my 6th season coaching Folsom Lacrosse and I absolutely love the sport and love helping these boys grow their lacrosse skills, build new friendships, and most importantly have lots of fun. Mike is a Folsom Lacrosse veteran and brings a few years of lacrosse coaching with him also.
First, if any parents have some interest in helping us coach the team this year we could really use one more adult out on the field to help us. No lacrosse experience required (Mike and I will help you with that part). If you want to find out more about assisting us in coaching this season, please reach out to me so I can answer any questions you may have.
Second, we need a team manager that is willing to help with team communication and assisting Mike and I with some administrative duties. This is a very important position and can really help us get the season off to a great start.
Third, Practice STARTS Monday 24th from 5:00pm to 6:30pm at Livermore Field. We will practice 2 days a week Monday and Wednesday 5:00pm to 6:30pm at Livermore Field, rain or shine. Practice starts at 5:00pm sharp so please arrive early enough to get suited up and be on the field ready to go at 5:00pm. Make sure your player has all the required protective gear including mouth guard and cup.
If you will not make a practice, I would ask you to text me and let me know the player name and when they will be out. You can also have your player text me directly. They will just need to let me know who they are, and what practice or game they will be missing. Coach Todd Deal: 916-217-7809
Last and most important is our goal for the season. The goal this season will be to ensure the boys have fun, grow their lacrosse skills and knowledge (Lacrosse IQ), and play competitive games as a team. Winning is great, but the main goals are to help develop good lacrosse players that play as a team and have fun.
There will be more communication coming over the next couple of days/weeks to ensure we get off to a good start. We will be using the SNYPR app this season that Coach Mark reviewed in the parent meeting. I will send out a separate email with that info for you all.
Looking forward to an awesome season and getting to know all of you. Thank you in advance for helping us make this season a great one.
